Spire: Fiscal Q2 Earnings Snapshot

ST LOUIS (AP) _ Spire Inc. (SR) on Friday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $173.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the St. Louis-based company said it had net income of $3.27. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $3.42 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.08 per share.

The natural gas distributor posted revenue of $880.9 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $894.7 million.

Spire expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.75 to $3.95 per share.
