The system is trained on Torchy's menu and can manage customized orders with high accuracy, answering questions about menu items, store hours, specials and allergen information. It also handles multiple calls simultaneously, allowing for efficient order processing.
The integration of SoundHound's voice AI technology aims to improve order accuracy, streamline operations and free up in-store staff to focus on food preparation and customer service. Thai Tran, Chief Technology Officer of Torchy's Tacos, highlighted the ease of use and reliability of the system, emphasizing its role in enhancing the guest experience while improving efficiency.
SoundHound's AI-powered restaurant solutions are in use at over 10,000 locations worldwide, including phone, drive-thru, kiosk and headset ordering systems. The company reports that its phone ordering technology has processed more than 100 million customer interactions, translating to hundreds of millions of dollars in food orders.
According to a recent SoundHound consumer study, nearly 80% of regular diners in the U.S. believe that voice AI technology will dominate food ordering in the near future. This adoption trend potentially suggests that voice AI systems like SoundHound's could play a critical role in the restaurant industry’s ongoing transformation toward automation and enhanced customer convenience.
