Nano Nuclear Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:NNE) shares are trading lower on Tuesday.
The firm announced notable progress in strengthening its nuclear energy technology. On Monday, the company revealed that it has filed four separate utility patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its Annular Linear Induction Pump technology.
This technology is designed to improve thermal management and distribution within advanced nuclear reactors, particularly molten-salt and liquid-metal systems.
ALIP uses electromagnetic pumps instead of mechanical components, enabling the movement of conductive fluids through a time-varying magnetic field.
This innovation reduces wear and tear, minimizes maintenance needs, and enhances system efficiency, marking a critical step in the evolution of advanced nuclear reactors.

ALIP was acquired by Nano Nuclear in 2024 and has since been recognized as a key-enabling technology for microreactors, with the potential for commercialization in third-party nuclear systems.
In addition to its nuclear applications, ALIP has broader implications for other high-performance fluid control markets, including space propulsion, industrial cooling systems, and defense technologies.
Nano Nuclear’s commitment to advancing this technology is reflected in its ongoing U.S. Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research Phase III project, which focuses on refining the ALIP for use in next-generation reactors.
Carlos O. Maidana, NANO Nuclear’s Head of Thermal Hydraulics and Space Program, emphasized that these patent filings highlight the company’s dedication to leading the charge in next-generation energy technologies.
According to Benzinga Pro, NNE stock has gained over 521% in the past year.
